1. Mac Based Authentication

  • The MAC address (short for media access control address) is the worldwide unique hardware address of a single network adapter.
  • The MAC address can be bound to a user ID to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Using MAC binding facility Multiple MAC addresses can be set in the single-user ID.

2. Hotspot Based Authentication

  • hotspot is a physical location where people may obtain Internet access, typically using Wi-Fi technology, via a wireless local area network (WLAN) using a router connected to an internet service provider (ISP).
  • Public hotspots may be created by a business for use by customers, such as coffee shops as well as hotels.
  • When mobile devices connect to a Wi-Fi hotspot that uses a captive portal and the web browser is automatically opened but so that the user can sign in.
  • Until this authentication process is completed, the Wi-Fi hotspot connection is not available for applications and services running on the device.

  • Static IP address means Internet service provider (ISP) provides a permanent address to the computer.
  • A static IP address makes it easier to work remotely using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) or other remote access programs.
